NYGC Big Tournament 1

Saturday, April 26th, 2008,
Registration starts 9 am
Tournament starts 11am

On April 26th the New York Go Center will be hosting the 1st of a series of upcoming tournaments.

Prizes
April's tournament and all the tournaments in the series will have cash prizes. There also will be new and different prizes.

I mentioned that it was a series of tournaments. Over the next six months the New York Go Center will have at least 6 tournaments, $5.00 of each player registration fee will go towards prizes to be awarded at the end of the six months. These will larger prizes than those for a single tournament.

The exact prizes have not been finalized but the idea is for example;

* Prizes for those with the most wins
* With the highest winning percentage for those attending 2/3 or more of the tournaments.
* The plan is to have the above prizes for groups of players based on player strength, so everyone has a fair chance to win.

So if you attend the tournaments regularly, and you never win a single tournament, you get still have a decent opportunity to take home the top prize.

Registration
The "Registration Fee" is 15 dollars.
As it is an "AGA Rated Tournament" AGA Membership is required but Special AGA Memberships are available if you are not a member, even for a single time.

Rules
There will be four rounds of play.
The playing time will be 45 minutes for each player and a 5 minute Canadian Byo-yomi.
AGA Rules will be used. If anyone is unfamiliar with AGA rules you may e-mail me and I will send them to you.
