JUNE TOURNAMENT

Ing Masters Qualifying, AGA Rated Open Go Tournament

June 10th, 2007 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM

at The New York Go Center

The North American Ing Masters is a new event this year. Sponsored by the Ing Foundation and organized by the AGA, this series of six playoffs across the country and two on the Internet will give every strong player in the country a chance. Finalists will join a field of seeded professionals in a field of 16 to compete for $3000 at the US Go Congress in July-August.

On Sunday June 10, The New York Go Center will host the first of two playoffs on the East Coast, expected to attract many of the region's strongest players. There will also be a handicap section for those who would enjoy making the scene.

To qualify for the Ing Masters (and therefore for the Open section),
players must be US citizens for residents and have been full AGA members for at least one year.

Prizes:

First prize, Open section: $250
Second prize, Open section: $150
Everyone in both sections who plays four and wins three gets a free selection from our bookstore!

Fees:

$20 for open section

$15 + AGA membership or rating fee for handicap section

Please pre-register by sending an email to nygc@usgo.org! Include your name, AGA rating or estimated strength, and AGA ID # if any.

Rules and counting: Ing Rules for open section
                             Japanese for handicap section

Overtime system:    45 min w/ 5 20 sec. periods in Open section
                             Bonus (Fischer) overtime in handicap section

9:00 - 10:00 AM Registration closes at 10 AM SHARP!
10:30 - 12:00 AM Round One
1:00 - 2:30 PM Round Two
3:00 - 4:30 Round Three
5:00 - 6:30 PM Round Four
6:45 PM Awards Ceremony
11:00 PM Closing time (stay and play for free until 11:00 PM)
